General:
Tom Price was established in 1962. Its proximity to the spectacular Hamersley Range and an opportunity to view the open cut mining operation, make the town a popular stopping point.
The town enjoys most of the amenities of city life in a tranquil setting.

Tom Price is the major centre at the gateway to the Karijini National Park and its spectacular gorges. Tours of the park may be booked through the Tom Price Visitor Centre or visitors may drive themselves and enjoy the timeless solitude of the gorges.

Although some access is by sealed road, two-wheel drive vehicle access depends on prevailing road conditions. No dogs permitted in the National Park, however the Shire of Ashburton provides kennelling.
With summer temperatures averaging 38ºC, most visitors choose to come to Tom Price during the winter months, when the daytime temperature averages 28ºC.

Whatever the season, a unique experience is guaranteed!
