Three Springs is a beautiful little town in the heart of wildflower country renowned for its picturesque townscape and old style wheat silos which are visible from all the roads leading into town. The town’s name is derived from the original water springs located to the north east used by early settlers and drovers for stock watering purposes.
Wildflower and Tourist Information
Open between July and October the volunteers have a wealth of local knowledge, local arts, crafts and souvenirs are available. A beautiful garden surrounding a large talc rock displaying unique wildflower plants a mural backdrop painted in recognition of the Country Women’s Association, also a museum for local memorabilia. Over 400 specimens of local plants are on display in the herbarium along with a display of talc from the local talc mine. Wildflower Show and Art Competition held in August every year commencing last Thursday to the following Sunday.
Yarra Yarra Lakes
An intermittent salt lake system providing unique scenery, home to various species of bird life.
Mica Mine Thicket (Dookanooka National Park)
South West of the town is a large stand of natural bushland, enjoy the natural beauty on foot.

A brief outline of the history of the area while viewing local wildflowers, information board and BBQ facilities.
Talc Mine
The state’s first talc mine, the largest in the southern hemisphere and second largest in the world. An open cut mine, the overburden heap with its multitude of coloured soils is spectacular and a photographer’s delight. A lookout has been constructed to enhance your view and experience.
Picnic Areas
Shady picnic areas are in abundance in the townsite, all offering easy caravan access.Stroll around this beautiful town and children can enjoy the playground in the centre of town.
Eucalyptus Rose Mallee
Three Springs’ floral emblem is the Eucalyptus Rose Mallee, a rare species of eucalypt, can be viewed in the Three Springs Hospital Grounds and Federation Park.
