Port Smith

Make Port Smith a destination either on your way to or from Broome.
The park is known Australia wide for its friendly service and happy atmosphere. Listen to the songs of the large array of bird life and spot the resident mopokes or frill necked lizards amongst the shade trees. The fishing is hard to beat with mangrove jack, bluebone, mackerel, bream and snapper in abundance. Delicious mangrove crabs are also plentiful and most people can get a taste of this delicacy. Take a boat trip across the lagoon to fish, or just wander along the cliff edge for some great photo shots. Join us for a night of dining and entertainment from late May – late August. Find out the hidden fishing spots or just make new friends.
Enjoy the sunset over the lagoon or a dip in the pristine waters. Watch the dolphins and turtles at play, or marvel at the whales as they travel past on their journey south.
Also available are 2 seater kayaks for hire, great for fishing or exploring the lagoon. For bird watchers they are a great way to find those elusive water birds. A wide variety of fishing is available in the area for those without boats, there are creeks, beaches and cliff areas which are accessible by 4 wheel drive provided you are a park guest. The park is dog friendly and a small refundable bond does apply, however no pets are allowed at any on-site accommodation.
Port smith is known for friendly service and even friendlier guests so why not drop in for a day or more and sample this fantastic part of the Kimberley region, you will be very welcome.
