Karalundi is a community located 55 km north of Meekatharra on 207 hectares of freehold land. The word Karalundi means ‘clear, good water’ which is abundantly available just a few metres below the surface. The community is centred around a boarding school which caters for up to 90 Indigenous students who come from communities across Western Australia. Income from the caravan park directly supports the operation of the school and community. Visitors must respect the community’s alcohol, tobacco and drug free status. There is a modern café and shop selling freshly roasted coffee, locally grown produce (seasonal) and cakes and general goods including souvenirs. The park offers a modern, safe, secure and peaceful environment which truly makes it an ‘Oasis in the Outback’. Café and shop closed on Saturday.
