Batchelor Litchfield National Park

General:
Batchelor is known as the gateway to Litchfield National Park, one of the Territory’s most spectacular parks, dominated by a huge sandstone plateau, with numerous cascading waterfalls, pockets of dense monsoon rainforest and tropical woodland. The park is ideal for bush-walking, picnics and camping.

Approximately two hours from Darwin, Litchfield Park can be reached via Batchelor or the Cox Peninsula Road. The road from Batchelor is sealed to Wangi Falls and provides dry season access for all vehicles. The continuation of the road through to the Cox Peninsula Road is formed gravel.

The wet season (November to April) brings flooding to lowland streams in the park area and access may be restricted, so be sure to check road conditions with the Northern Territory Police on 8984 3585.
