Perth To Bunbury (inland Route)

This route takes you into Murray Shire which contains the largest area of natural water in the South West, the Peel Inlet - Harvey Estuary; and also the largest dam in the southern region, the South Dandalup Dam. The towns en route are interesting with lots to enjoy and the general area contains some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia. Pinjarra has some fine examples of colonial architecture and from here you can detour to Dwellingup (24kms).

This little timber town is surrounded by tranquil streams which swell to fast moving rapids in winter. It is a place for nature lovers with a centre for forest information etc being its centrepiece.

After returning to the South Western Highway you will come to Waroona where, 8kms east of the town, you will find the huge Waroona Dam which is used extensively for recreation and fishing.

From here you can reach Harvey with paddocks full of dairy and beef cattle. A side trip to Collie is well worthwhile.
